The Ordinary Special of the month!

Remembering year 2009!

It is again that time of the year when we are all about to say goodbye to the passing year and welcome to the coming year at the same time. The new coming year does bring some new hopes, inspirations and happiness with it as always. And this year was no exception. In fact, due to what really happened around the globe this year, particularly the financial crisis, it was quite necessary thus much anticipated by all wakes of people than previous years. People were desperately waiting for something to cheer up their otherwise gloomy and tired world. Let’s this be our time to regain our hopes and confidence to strengthen our ground and stand tall again. Let’s this be the new beginning for our better world where we all can live again in peace and harmony.

Pardon me if this sound like a speech of some leaders which was not intentional and trust me I have also no intention of whatsoever being one in future. I am just an ordinary guy like all of you out there and just trying to remember the things that actually happened to me during the year. That is all.

It all started by early Jan, when suddenly everything went quiet and slow. People took notice and we all got confused not knowing exactly of what is going on around us. The clouds of uncertainty were hovering over our heads and it was growing bigger by days. The first one to hit was the bank and financial institutes which almost operate on sentiments alone. Stock markets nosedived. Billions of dollars in assets were wiped out in days. Those who genuinely thought of themselves as the master of universe suddenly became paupers in months if not in weeks. It all crumbled as a house of the cards just in front of your eyes. By the first half of the year, businesses closing down, lay offs, seizure of private properties and houses by banks, jobs losses and growing lines of people queuing for social benefits, abandoned houses and shops, and never-ending story of hundredth of millions of desperate people and theirs broken and disarray families were the daily dose of the news. It was very sad and scary at the beginning as it was almost everywhere on TV, newspapers, internet and radios. There was simply no escape. Gradually it became a kind of habit as other routines in life and was getting used to it. Eventually you get over with it and just move on with your life.

The most significant change resulting from the crisis was that you got a hell lot of spare time as business was getting much lesser and works were scarse. And in order to utilise the sudden spare time, you had to find something else to do and that was exactly what i did by rekindling my passion for writing. I did not only write a book but also created this very website that you are visiting just now and also promised myself of making a habit of writing a book every year until i am seventy years old. That gives me time for at least 20-25 books before i eventually got the chance to say the final goodbye. I am not sure yet of whether they will be any good for reading or not but I am pretty sure of fulfulling my obligation to at least finish writing them as per the plan. I think it is also the perfect time to pursue your other dreams that you never had time before. I have also wrote a piece about this matter which you can read it from main page of this very website. I am sure that most of you out there also did the same and  i can say that quite confidently that it did turn out pretty good at least for me. So, it was not entirely wasted for sure!

On a personal note, it was a very special year for us as a parent, our one and only son graduated from the university with his computer software engineering degree and also started his first job, what can be the happiest moment than that? We are very proud of his success and achievement in life and wished him for the very best in life.

Hopefully, we will be able to have the same happiest moment with our one and only daughter in 1-2 years time. Let’s pray for that too from the hearts.

And for the business, we were very lucky enough to have enough works for our company and the staff, thus, not even one lay off was necessary. We did not make any profit this year as all the other companies around the globe yet we had never any problems on paying our staff and workers also in time. Although we ended up doing a hell lot of small works that was not the case before, it was a very gratifying and luckiest year for us in the company.

Yet, there was always a hope within people that it will be over soon and things will start to get better again. In that sheer hope, the whole year was passed.

Let’s all hope and pray that all of our bad lucks, tragedies and sorrows are also passed away with the year and just the good lucks, happiness and good things in life remain with us for the coming year. So, we can all live in peace and harmony and do good things in our lives and also to our planet. God bless us all in 2010!
